Michael Mundaca has spent the last five years as co-director of the Ernst & Young, LLP, National Tax Department and its Americas Tax Center. Prior to joining the international firm, Mr. Mundaca spent four years with the US Treasury Department in Washington, DC. He served the department as Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy for two of those years, working directly under Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. Upon leaving the department, Michael Mundaca was presented the Alexander Hamilton Award, the Treasury Department’s highest honor.

Earlier, Mr. Mundaca served both EY and the Treasury Department in additional roles. He spent five years in EY's International Tax Services group and five years in Treasury’s Office of the International Tax Counsel during both the Clinton and George W. Bush presidential administrations.

Earlier in his career, Michael Mundaca gained legal experience with the New York law firm of Sullivan and Cromwell. Prior to entering the field of taxation, he earned a bachelor of arts from Columbia University and a master of arts from the University of Chicago. He holds law degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Miami.
