Michael Palassis is a highly respected leader in infrastructure and real estate finance, with over two decades of experience structuring and advising on capital-intensive public and private sector projects. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Quantitative Finance and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia, a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, and a Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from Kaplan Professional. Michael began his career in investment banking and project finance, gaining cross-sector experience in both the Australian and US markets before founding Paxon Group in 2000. Under his leadership, Paxon has advised across housing, transport, health, education, and urban infrastructure sectors, supporting government agencies, institutional investors, developers, financiers, and community housing providers on transactions, partnerships, and procurement strategies.
He is credited with introducing Australia’s first Build-to-Rent model and creating a shared equity housing framework to improve housing affordability—both now adopted by state governments.
