Dr. Michael Parsa, El Paso, Texas physician, currently teaches classes in emergency medicine at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at Texas Tech (PLFSOM). He has held this position since 2010, and has become increasingly involved in university committees and student organizations each year since. In addition to his capacity as an assistant professor, Dr. Michael Parsa is a clerkship director, a faculty advisor for multiple clubs, and a respected member of several committees.
Prior to his position at PLFSOM, Dr. Parsa completed a three-year stay in Papua New Guinea’s Western Province. He worked as a hospital physician at Rumginae Hospital through Pioneers International.
Dr. Parsa routinely engages in charitable work across the globe, having previously volunteered his skills in both Haiti and Papua New Guinea. As an invited speaker, he has discussed these experiences and others at length. He has lectured at PLFSOM and other institutions about the challenges and immense rewards of short-term medical missions.
