I am Michael Pinkus (also known as “The Grape Guy”) a multi-award-winning wine writer, national and international wine judge, educator, journalist, social-media content creator, co-host & co-creator of the long running podcast Two Guys Talking Wine – plus former President of the Wine Writers Circle of Canada (2010-2015).

My passion is wine. To that end I created a website: Michael Pinkus Wine Review where I post my “heartfelt and insightful” comments, along with reviews of the wines and the wineries I taste and visit.

My YouTube Channel hosts my video review weekly, posting at least one per week – subscribe here. They are both fun and informative – it’s wine, and while I take it seriously, it’s also a social beverage and brings people together. It should be fun.

I provide the following services – in no particular order:

• organizing/inventorying wine cellars
• lectures, lead seminars, hosting corporate and private wine tastings
  wine tours
• consult for wine lists and other wine endeavours (including writing and translating marketing material for wineries and organizations)
• judging wine competitions
• I make a great interview guest on wine topics
• And write

Over the years, I have taught wine classes for both Ryerson’s Life Institute and the Toronto District School board; and given countless lectures and seminars on the topic of wine.

I would like to think that through my writing, videos, podcast, social posts and everything else I do, I present my desire to educate, inspire and encourage others to grow their own love, passion, and enthusiasm for wine. All with a creative and fun approach.

In his past life, Michael was an on-air radio personality (graduated from Fanshawe College in Radio-Broadcasting. I’ve also dabbled in acting (IMDB) and been a vocal performer for over 30 years. I do have a related company, Custom Sound Impressions – specializing in on-hold messages and other forms of narration using the human voice (not AI generated): for web, IVR and more.
