Michael Pointer

I'm a painter wrapped up inside a photographer.

I believe that no matter where I am, or how isolated I may be, my actions affect the world. I lived in Afghanistan and established a dental laboratory to support a free dental clinic in Kabul. We also took dental treatment into imprisoned Afghan women and their children. Additionally, I lectured at the Center for Contemporary Art Afghanistan and continue to be a member of their advisory board.

I'm a fourth generation artist and have been most active exhibiting over the last 15 years in the United States and abroad.

I taught Photography at the Wichita State University School of Art and Design.

My degree is in English and I frequently write my way to my images
