Michael Quintero
Attorney in Maitland, Florida
Mr. Quintero attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida where he pursued a degree in Legal Studies. He joined the University’s Mock Trial Team, an undergraduate program where student advocates litigated mock trials against teams from other universities. After 2 years, Mr. Quintero became one of the leading members of the program, winning numerous individual awards and helping his team win several tournaments, most notably, a first place win at Harvard University, where Mr. Quintero’s team defeated teams from Yale, Boston University, and Princeton. After a successful undergraduate career, Mr. Quintero graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Legal Studies and decided to pursue his passion of advocacy and litigation by attending law school.
From 2008-2011, Mr. Quintero attended the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law in Gainesville, Florida where he quickly separated himself as one of the college’s best student litigators. As he did at the University of Central Florida, Mr. Quintero continued to pursue his passion for courtroom advocacy and joined the College of Law’s Mock Trial Team. After a grueling two-week long tryout process, Mr. Quintero had the distinct privilege of litigating before Florida Supreme Justice Jorge Labarga after placing in the top 4—out of over 100 competitors—during the try out process. During Mr. Quintero’s 2 years with the student organization, he led the program to a final four finish in every tournament he competed in, including a National Championship win at the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Mock Trial Competition in San Antonio, Texas. As part of the National Championship team, Mr. Quintero was awarded a top advocate award by the tournament directors based on his performance and preparation during the tournament. At the conclusion of Mr. Quintero’s law school career, he was among only 4 students awarded the Order of the Barristers, a national organization that recognizes law school students who have exhibited excellence and attained high honor through the art of courtroom advocacy.
