Hello, my name is Michael Ransom and I currently live in Wallingford, CT with my brother who just finished his junior year at Quinnipiac. I graduated in May 2020 with a major in Business Management and a minor in Economics. Originally, I was planning to immediately enter the workforce after graduation, but because of Covid I took the opportunity to complete my MBA. I then began almost like a 4+1 program, where I started last summer, and I am now finishing up in this semester (Summer 1). I think this will end up being a very positive choice for me moving forward as I was able to fully focus on my studies in grad school as well as waiting to find a job that would probably be very difficult to because of the impacts from the pandemic.
Some professional experience I have is I have had held some small management level positions at local restaurants. My main job since I started college in 2016 has been as an Uber Eats driver. I feel that an Uber Driver is the perfect position for a student as it provides flexibility in working hours as well some solid financial returns. Once you really get the hang of the Uber system/algorithm you can make a lot of money in a short period of time, so it has been a major benefit for me throughout my college experience so far. Also, because of this I never really looked into much internship opportunities because I think the most efficient use of my time was focusing on my studies + driving for Uber. It created a solid school-work relationship and I think it gave me the best opportunity to be successful in my time at Quinnipiac.
In general terms I am a big soccer fan, and my favorite team is Manchester United, who are based out of Manchester, England. I have family in England, and I recently attended a game in January 2019.
