Michael Bell
Whether it be video, photography, or the other fine arts, Michael has worked with various mediums to communicate messages about how we see ourselves. In this sense, Michael uses visual media as a way of holding a mirror up to cultures, groups, and events in order to reflect their values and beliefs. At Boston College, where he studied studio art, history, and philosophy, Michael brought together artists to collaborate, create, and curate guerilla one-night art exhibits. Michael recently finished his two-year Teach for America commitment, teaching middle school English in East San Jose. He is currently helping to open a charter school in San Francisco aimed at providing under-served students with a creative, project-based educational curriculum.
