Michael Saquella

Michael Saquella is a multi-faceted actor and director whose work includes film, television, comedy, commercials, and live performances. From his early years in Rochester, NY, He pursued acting with determination, later relocating to Los Angeles, CA, to turn his ambitions into a steady career. Over several decades, he has demonstrated adaptability, resilience, and a strong work ethic as the entertainment industry has changed around him. A defining moment came when he was chosen to play John Belushi in the television movie ‘Wired,’ a role offered due to his strong live impersonations and commitment to his craft.

Mike Saquella was selected for this opportunity because of his performances as the comedian in “Legends in Concert” and “Legendary Superstars,” entertaining audiences across the United States and Canada. His background as a blues singer and voice impersonator added to his stage presence. Although the film’s production was halted due to legal issues and another actor eventually played the part, the experience marked an essential milestone in his journey.

In 2023, he starred in A Conversation with a Mobster, bringing realism and humor to the role of an Italian-American crime boss. His steady approach to his work has allowed him to build lasting relationships with respected professionals. As a SAG-AFTRA member, he has earned acting awards and expanded into screenwriting and directing. Over nearly forty years, his film credits include leading and creative roles in El Coyote, which he co-directed, as well as Dream Round, Old Man Cacti, Desert Rose, and Forget About It. He also wrote and directed Carolina’s Calling, constantly assembling talented casts.

Michael Saquella is also recognized for his comedy and musical performances, especially in tribute shows honoring John Belushi. He launched the in2itive Network streaming platform to feature his projects and help other creators share their work. Recent credits include directing and writing Ambush at Peck Canyon and Blue Lake Butcher.

Outside of the industry, he enjoys cooking, focusing on Southwestern and Italian-American cuisine and is an avid football fan. He values friendships, especially with the late Burt Reynolds, and continues to honor those bonds.
