Michael Schunk

An insurance and strategic planning executive, Michael Schunk serves as the President and Director of Employee Benefits for Employee Benefit Advisors, a fully independent and state-licensed employee benefit brokerage and insurance firm. As President, Michael Schunk works to help fulfill the company’s goal of utilizing its expertise to assist select clients who prefer personalized service and practical consultation to provide their employees with excellent benefits. The company specializes in evaluating current benefits programs, analyzing cost trends, and reviewing loss ratios to match clients with products that suit their individual goals and objectives.

Under Michael Schunk’s direction, Employee Benefit Advisors’ commitment to customer service has allowed the company to maintain a client retention rate of over 95 percent. The company belongs to such organizations as the National Society for Human Resource Management, the International Foundation of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists, the National Association of Health Underwriters, and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

A graduate of Purdue University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Michael Schunk served as the captain of the university’s lacrosse team and as a member of the fraternity Sigma Chi while in school.

In 1990, Michael Schunk started the insurance and employee benefit company Planning Strategies Group, which merged with Benefit Management Group (BMG) in 2001. At BMG, Mr. Schunk acted as both an Area Vice President and as a partner and shareholder until Gallagher Benefit Services acquired the company in 2007.
