Michael Shield
My name is Michael Shield and I am a junior in the Isenberg School of Management. While many people know I am a Finance Major and have a passion for the business world, many probably do not know about my passion for baseball. Baseball has been my passion since I was 9 years old. I began pitching in little league and continued through high school. I now play baseball in the summer on an inner city league team that plays twice a week. My aspiration was to pitch in college, but after a few injuries that did not work out, and my new aspiration is to one day have season tickets to the Red Sox. I have been to many Red Sox games, including Game 6 of the World Series in 2013. If I am successful enough when I am older, I will be able to afford season tickets and continue my passion for baseball and my favorite team, the Red Sox.
My biggest aspiration for the future would be to combine my passion for baseball with my passion to succeed in business. My uncle currently is an executive for the Red Sox, and while he has been a great help in getting me tickets, I hope one day I can prove to him that I could be a valuable asset to the business side of the Red Sox. For now I plan to keep working hard in school and business while keeping my eyes set on that ultimate goal. The Red Sox have taught me to always believe, and I am going to take that lesson from them with me forever.
