Michael Szelest

Michael Szelest is a licensed Professional Engineer and Branch Manager with a strong track record in civil engineering consulting, specializing in geotechnical engineering, structural inspections, and code compliance. Based in Florida, he brings a disciplined, results-driven approach to managing complex projects while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Michael began his career with Engineering Consulting Services (ECS Group of Companies) in 2020 as an Assistant Staff Project Manager. Through consistent performance and leadership, he advanced rapidly, earning promotions to Project Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, and ultimately Branch Manager by 2024. In this role, he oversees operations, mentors engineering staff, and ensures the successful execution of a diverse portfolio of projects across Southwest Florida.

Over the course of his career, Michael has managed and contributed to more than 250 projects, including high-profile developments such as the Ritz-Carlton Estero Bay, Ritz-Carlton Naples, Sunseeker Resort, Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), and Paradise Coast Sports Complex. His technical expertise spans geotechnical investigations, materials testing, and structural and special inspections, supported by a comprehensive set of industry certifications across concrete, masonry, steel, and post-tension systems.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UMass Lowell and has further distinguished himself through hands-on leadership experiences and international study. Michael is actively affiliated with multiple professional organizations and certification bodies, reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards in engineering practice.
