Michael T. Foley is a unique and one-of-a-kind freelance writer in that he has backgrounds in business writing, creative writing, and academic writing. In his 2008 Bachelor of Arts in Honours English from St. Mary's University, Michael excelled in academic and research writing with a specialty in literature. Wanting to further hone his writing craft, Michael went on to graduate with a second Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Writing (Institutional Communications) from York University in 2010. At York, Michael developed the skills necessary to design and write for marketing, advertising copy, copy editing, CV/cover letters, brochures, instruction manuals, translating business jargon, technical reports, internal and external newsletters, blogs, and more!

However, just being a technical writer wasn't enough. In 2013, Michael graduated with a post-graduate certificate in Children’s Entertainment: Writing, Production, and Management at Centennial College. During his year at Centennial, he learned about every aspect of the children's entertainment industry including children's television script writing, children's book writing, children's non-fiction writing, social media, television production, business of the entertainment industry, professional practice, integrated media, childhood development and more.

Michael put all of these skills into practice at his internship at the children's animation studio, Nerdcorps Entertainment where he wrote a comic book based on their hit television show Slugterra as well as edited and gave notes on every script, bible, outline, and pitch that went through the company. Additionally, Michael acted as a researcher for the Toronto office where he was constantly researching the latest trends, products, and the competing markets in television, games, apps, websites, books, and film.
