Who I Am I'm Michael Tolmach — an entrepreneur, product designer, and builder based in Los Angeles, CA. I've always been drawn to the intersection of physical products and digital technology, and most of my work lives right in that space.I'm a Brooklyn native and first-generation immigrant, arriving in the US from the former Soviet Ukraine in 1993. Early in my career I worked as a licensed financial advisor on Wall Street, holding Series 3, 7, and 63 licenses before pivoting full-time into entrepreneurship. I'm someone who goes deep on whatever I'm building, whether that's obsessing over the feel of a product in your hand or the architecture of the backend delivering it.

What I've Built Before Plopii, I was a key builder at Eonsmoke — one of the fastest-growing consumer nicotine vaping brands of its era — where I helped generate over $150 million in revenue. I went on to found Purpyle, a direct-to-consumer polarized sunglasses brand, and co-founded Glidecraft LLC, an electric skateboard and hoverboard company that raised seed funding and sold through major retail channels. Now I'm the founder of Plopii — a Los Angeles-based consumer brand we started from scratch alongside David Alexander. What began as a premium silicone grip accessory line for iPhones has grown into a multi-category brand spanning phone accessories, wellness products and digital goods. Every product under the Plopii name is designed with the same core principle: it should feel intentional, look clean, and actually work.

Plopii — The Brand Plopii (plopii.com) is my main creative and commercial vehicle. The brand launched with silicone iPhone accessories and has since expanded into nootropic pouches and digital product lines. I oversee everything from product development and packaging design to the e-commerce tech stack and fulfillment. Plopii is direct-to-consumer first — built to connect directly with customers without middlemen.

The Tech Side I build and maintain Plopii's entire digital infrastructure myself. That includes a custom e-commerce site, Stripe payment integration, automated digital delivery systems, and backend webhook architecture. I'm comfortable working across the full stack and I prefer building things the right way over taking shortcuts.

Product Philosophy Great products don't need to explain themselves. I'm obsessed with the moment someone picks something up and just gets it — the weight, the finish, the simplicity. That instinct drives every decision at Plopii, from the silicone compound we use on our grips to the label design on our pouches.

Beyond Work Outside of building Plopii, I'm into gaming, tech, and design. I'm a serious strategy gamer and I approach games the same way I approach business — systems thinking, long-term positioning, and a competitive edge. I'm also constantly exploring new tools, platforms, and ideas that could translate into the next product or brand.
