Michael Vogel
Entrepreneur, Engineer, and Investor in Vancouver, BC, Canada
I'm a serial entrepreneur with a strong track record as a founder, CEO/CTO, engineer, senior executive, and board member with a decade of success in tech. My specialty is taking new ideas and products from concept to successful delivery to market.
In my career thus far I've personally founded two multi-million dollar companies.
I founded Netcoins in 2014 (www.goNetcoins.com), served as CEO & CTO, and bootstrapped the company from $0 to $20MM of sales revenue until it was acquired in 2018 and became the world's first Bitcoin software company to go public. Lifetime sales of the company are anticipated to reach $100MM sometime in 2019.
I'm an active investor (tech & non-tech) with a keen focus on real estate, and also serve on several boards.
In 2010 I graduated from Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Electronics and Systems Engineering.
In my personal life, I’m deeply passionate about providing awareness of home-dialysis and kidney disease. In 2012, I volunteered and became certified to perform overnight hemodialysis treatments at home for my elderly grandfather (until his passing in late 2018). Over 6 years, I personally performed all of his roughly 1200 nocturnal dialysis treatments, approximately 8000 hours of this delicate 6-8 hour long blood-filtering process. My simple blog (discoverdialysis.com) engages those seeking a first-hand look into what home dialysis entails.
Bitcoin, entrepreneurship, and fast-growing startups are my expertise & favourite topics of discussion. If you would ever like to chat about any of these, feel free to reach out!
