Michael Voulgarelis

After studying Business and International Relations, Michael Voulgarelis launched his diverse and successful career. Michael Voulgarelis possesses extensive regional experience thriving in a number of high-growth U.S. markets. Additionally, Michael Voulgarelis holds certification as an elite Six Sigma Green Belt. Following his studies at George Washington University, Michael Voulgarelis worked for Wachovia Bank. Michael Voulgarelis effectively served as Sales Manager for Wachovia Bank until he joined Bank of America in September 1997. From September 1997 to June 2000, Michael Voulgarelis acted as Assistant Vice President and Small Business Sales Manager for Bank of America. Michael Voulgarelis functioned in this capacity in Charlotte, North Carolina. As Assistant Vice President/Small Business Sales Manager, Michael Voulgarelis recruited, trained, and designed systems to retain a team of 20 bankers and eight support staff. Reporting directly to the Call Center Executive, Michael Voulgarelis achieved an impeccable 100 percent employee-retention rate, managed 20 direct reports, and generally engineered a positive, goal-oriented environment. Michael Voulgarelis’ innovative style led to Bank of America’s pioneering efforts directing Internet and telephone sales toward business customers, making the bank the first in the nation to open business accounts and generate new loans over the telephone and on the web. Responsible for a $1.5 million budget, Michael Voulgarelis exceeded his loan quotas by 300 percent and his deposit objectives by 75 percent. In 2000, Michael Voulgarelis advanced to Vice President, Unit Manager, and Center Sales Manager with Bank of America. Michael Voulgarelis excelled in this capacity until he became Senior Vice President of Call Center Operations in 2001. In this role, Michael Voulgarelis presided over all aspects of a year-round center that processed no less than 25,000 calls every day, staffed from 28 locations around the United States. Subsequently, Michael Voulgarelis won the title of Senior Vice President and Regional Executive in January 2004.
