Michael Weilert

Michael Weilert, MD, is an experienced Medical Informatics consultant and pathologist based in the Fresno area. He has wide experience and knowledge in both general pathology and hematology, as well as extensive experience in OB/GYN and GI samples. Over the course of his career as a consultant and pathologist, Dr. Weilert has served in numerous positions, such as laboratory director, group and medical staff leader and health care educator. This in turn has given him great experience across many different fields.

As an exceptional leader, Michael Weilert has a proven ability to motivate those around him and improve any project with which he’s involved. Some of his many accomplishments include the development of state-of-the-art facilities, the adoption and implementation of new and effective methods to improve laboratory output, enhancing automation in numerous different fields and effectively merging different operations. Outside of his work in laboratories and hospitals, Michael Weilert has also served as a health care educator, and worked with students at the residency program for UCSF Fresno, the medical center and local consortium MT training program, CSU San Francisco and the College of American Pathology annual meetings.

Medical Informatics, or the application of information technology to the acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of information in health and biomedicine, is one of Michael Weilert's personal specialties. Over the course of his 30+ year career, Dr. Weilert has written numerous peer-reviewed publications on the subject, which have been presented around the world from Ann Arbor to Switzerland.

When he isn’t busy working on pathology or Medical Informatics, Michael Weilert enjoys making music on Logic Pro, a digital audio workstation for Mac computers, as well as following sports teams from Kansas.
