Michael Wisniewski

Michael Wisniewski wears many hats: a business development expert, an entrepreneurship coach, and a business mentor. He is an accomplished expert in building strategic relationships and partnerships and has helped many companies identify new opportunities for long-term business growth.

Michael Wisniewski is currently a senior manager in the Hartford CT area. However, his business development career dates back to 2009 at the University of Connecticut, where he served as Business Development Manager for three years. He worked for several other companies in various capacities, including Connecticut Innovations (CI), the largest venture capital firm in Connecticut focused on investing in tech-based businesses.

He worked for CI from 2012 to 2017, rising through the ranks from being a Business Development Associate to Investment Associate, Venture Capital. As an investment associate, he sourced deals and reviewed high-potential candidates for investment, and managed a portfolio of 30 companies worth more than $100 million.

Another highlight of Michael Wisniewski’s career is working for Waterlogic, a manufacturer and provider of bottle-less water coolers to millions globally. He served as Corporate Development Manager, M&A from 2017 to 2018, helping the company identify small businesses for acquisition to promote corporate growth strategies. He successfully sourced, negotiated, and closed three negotiations.

As a Business Mentor, Michael Wisniewski co-founded the UConn Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities Program (EBV) in Storrs CT in 2009, creating a network of mentors and strategic partners to support veterans looking to launch their businesses.

Michael Wisniewski has a Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-law and holds an MBA in Venture Consulting from the University of Connecticut School of Business. He also has several professional certifications, including a Professional Certificate for Tech Entrepreneurship and the Lean Startup from Stanford University and Professional Certificate for Venture Capital & Private Equity from Venture Capital Institute.
