Michail Reeves

Future public relations practitioner Michail Reeves began his journey 22 years ago in Clinton, Maryland. Coming from a small family he was very social outside of the home and knew from an early age that communication was key. His mother always knew him as the social butterfly of the family and understood that growing up without any siblings meant that he would most likely not be home often but out with his peers.
Living out in Waldorf, MD Michail decided to begin his journey after high school close to home but far away enough that there was good distance for growth and development on his own. Morgan State University was not his first choice but became his second home. Public Relations also was not his first choice for a degree. His mother wanted him to become an engineer due to the quality pay and beneficial knowledge that came with it. During his freshman year he decided that he was going to make engineering his major but shortly changed it to business management during his spring semester. The math was one of the issues that he did not want to deal with, although he was clearly capable of completing the work.
Business was his second choice and also soon became a shortcoming in his degree pursuit. Dressing up for the business building standards was something he wasn’t ready for at the time of business and then he changed his major again to Public Relations.
He finally found a degree in which he was ready for. Public Relations was a field that seemed to interest him the most and it only took three years to figure it out. Michail understands the function of public relations in which he wants to go into, which would be media relations. The media relation’s functions of PR include maintaining a good relationship with the media and continuing to push for a positive image for your client. He understands that he has been somewhat being a media relation’s specialist for many of his colleagues since his freshman year, sticking his neck out for others and understanding how to shape their image to better them. He’s journey has led him to become a fifth year senior at Morgan State University anticipating graduation in the Spring of 2014 with intentions on moving to Miami to start a business with his non-blood brother Christopher Powell
