I have been practicing and instructing yoga for 15 years. I consider myself to be a perpetual student learning from many great teachers and students. I have experienced many extremes in my body and have studied several fitness practices in depth. I have 3 beautiful children and continue to learn from their resilience every day. The practice of yoga and meditation has given me a tool in which I can remain focused and therefore present, I have become more conscious of my habitual reactions and pre conceptions. My mind is clearer, which allows me to make better decisions. Yoga creates space for consciousness and this will change your life and the world around you.
In my Power Yoga classes, workshops, trainings and bootcamps. I encourage students to show up, step to the edge and not to take themselves so serriously. The classes are challenging, sweaty and fun, without challenge you can not grow, however the harder you are on yourself the faster you will breakdown. Power Yoga is about balance; challenging yourself sensitively by tuning into your body and mind, getting really quite, tapping into the bodies innate wisdom, shifting from a place of thinking to a realm of feeling and knowing. It is not about learning to stand on your hands its about learning to stand on your own two feet, strong in your center, grounded and resilient. Flexibility has little to do with wrapping your legs around your head and everything to do with wrapping your mind around whatever life churns out for you. When you get knocked on your ass, what makes you get back up?
The human body houses the human spirit, and it is through movement of body, stillness of mind and intense focus that we unleash its potential. Empowered Yoga and Lifestyle was created by Michele Theoret in order to introduce, power yoga and fitness as a means to tap into the infinite potential that exists at the core of all beings. Our classes, programs, workshops and retreats offer a non dogmatic exploration of the mind body and spirit, combining: yoga, core conditioning, functional fitness, sports performance, easter philosophy, psychology and life coaching.
