Michele is a Rhode Island artist whose work is widely sought after and can be found in the collections of the Newport Art Museum, the Herbert F. Johnson Museum, the University of Virginia Art Museum, and more.
Her powerful artworks are full of color and messages. Textiles, collages, drawings, and paintings attract attention from across the room yet reveal far deeper content upon close inspection.
With an MFA from Cornell and a BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology, Leavitt's teaching experience includes RISD Pre-College, Cornell, Ithaca College, SUNY Delhi, CCRI, Newport Art Museum, and various community art centers, where she primarily teaches drawing.
