Versatile singer, songwriter Michele Lundeen is a soulful, mesmerizing vocalist who effortlessly blends classic and contemporary Blues, Memphis soul, rock, jump swing, Texas boogie, rhythm & blues, jazz, New Orleans funk and more into a satisfying musical stew.
While her energetic and infectious style is truly all her own, she has been compared to artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and even shades of Billie Holiday. Reaching into the audience with emotional vocals and body language, she’s been dubbed "The Queen of Steam" for her electrifying vocal and stage presence. Michele commands attention with talent and warmth and enjoys including the audience in an entertaining, musical romp. As alias Madame LeRoux, in full regalia, she also has a successful New Orleans-style Rhythm & Blues show plus an Etta James/Koko Taylor Tribute.
Michele is a 11x San Diego Music Awards “Best Blues” Nominee. Her CD, Song Inside Me, was one of final four at the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, Tennessee (2006). Song Inside Me made several Top 10-25-100 charts plus spent 10 weeks in the Top 50 on the Roots/Blues charts (2005-06) and still receives airplay around the globe. Michele and her band also represented San Diego, California at the IBC after winning regionally (2001).
