I’m Michelle. I’m a content creator and podcaster living in Toronto, Canada. I am also the host of the podcast A Shot of Melanin. Let me tell you more about me.

🎙How did I get Started Podcasting?

In 2019 I had begun my Maternity leave and was looking for a hobby. I was introduced to the world of podcast as a listener and loved the conversations that were happening. I always loved have stimulating and engaging conversation and figured I can do this! By November of that year I had recorded a few episodes and launched it officially January 2020. Not knowing what I wanted the podcast to be I finally found my footing and was able to solidify what the goal of the podcast would be.

🎯 Sooo… what is the goal?

I created A Shot of Melanin as a way of having black conversation more specifically black CANADIAN conversations. While I found that black people all over the world had some similarities in the struggle we faced there were also some differences. It was also a way to educate the world of what its like being black in Canada as we get overshadowed by our neighbors south of our boarders. Now its not all serious and some times we do have fun and discuss worldly events but its main goal is to wanted to spotlight and amplify black Canadian voices.

🤎Finally about me

I am a mother of two young kids. I love RnB Soca and Afrobeats music. I’m also interested in fashion and I LOVEEEE to dance.
