nostalgia. it's delicate, but potent. in Greek, "nostalgia" literally means "the pain from an old wound." it's a twinge in your heart far more powerful than memory alone. didn't Dante or Voltaire teach us that there is no greater sorrow, than to recall a happy time during a miserable moment? the point? as you read this, you are more than likely cataloguing or recalling your memories - likely scattered with both happiness or sorrow. me? i'm interpreting the exact composition of happiness or sorrow. the meaning. the explanation, value, worth. the strings of stories, ideas, words, letters, punctuation. your story is comprised of feelings & emotions - my philosophcal method of explaining emotional concepts is seemingly purely analytical & ignores the existence of either. my nostalgia is compromised of facts, intelligence, validation, truth. it is terse & trite yet true: hugs don't offer validation & affection doesn't offer a solution.
