I am a thoroughbred racehorse trainer with a unique background. I began in this industry after completing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and a post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. I have been a rider of horses - in many of their amazing forms - beginning as a toddler continuing throughout my life. I started in the racing industry in 2001 as an exercise rider, and from 2003-2007 was fortunate to have been assistant and exercise rider to the leading US trainer, Todd Pletcher. I was directly involved with a multitude of talented, multiple class stakes winners and champions such as: Ashado, Bandini, English Channel, Honey Ryder, Lawyer Ron, Limehouse, Master Command, Octave, Purge, Scat Daddy, Speightstown, and Wait A While, to name only a few. I opened my own public stable in December of 2007. My previous professional lives have included personal training (& teaching aerobics...back when we did those things), creative writing, working as a server, and trying to be the best grandchild that ever lived. New(er) passions for me are paleo-lifestyles and holistic medicne.
