A few years into practicing corporate law in the Washington, DC area I was bitten by the business development bug. As a fourth year associate I generated almost $50,000 in legal revenue for my firm...and, I didn't even do all of the work myself! Networking and helping businesses achieve their goals became my passion. Unfortunately, many junior attorneys (especially those practicing at large firms) are not given opportunities to expand their marketing and development chops. Well, with the advent of social media tools over the past few years, I've been able to successfully leave practice and devote my full attention to the use of social media for legal business development and to help diverse and women attorneys advance their careers.
