Michelle Black is an Educational Consultant, supporting schools, leaders, and communities with over 20 years of experience in public, independent, day, and boarding schools on the East and West Coasts. She has worked in single-sex, co-educational, faith-based, and non-denominational schools, which have provided her with a unique perspective on school culture and community needs.
Michelle’s career in education began in the English classroom, where she saw firsthand how literature helps students explore new perspectives and see themselves reflected in powerful ways. Over the last eight years, she has served as a school administrator, with experience spanning teaching and learning, faculty coaching and supervision, admissions, and college counseling. Known for her ability to connect faculty, families, and students, Michelle believes that the most impactful and transformational learning happens beyond the classroom.
As an educational consultant, speaker, and coach, Michelle partners with schools and organizations to create meaningful change. She designs and leads professional development experiences that equip administrators, educators, and students with practical strategies for growth. Michelle has facilitated workshops for school communities, local organizations, and at national and regional conferences, including the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the International Coalition of Girls Schools (ICGS).
Known for her ability to listen deeply, mentor thoughtfully, and design systems that support whole-school growth, Michelle partners with schools to strengthen leadership practices, enhance student-centered programs, and foster thriving, inclusive communities.
