Doctor Michelle Fynes MB BAO BCh (Hons) is a Consultant and Subspecialist in Uro-Gynaecologist and Reconstructive Pelvic Floor Disorders Surgery. Fynes’s clinical specialties include Uro-Gynaecology, Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology, Childbirth Injury and Female Pelvic Floor Surgery.

Born in Dublin, Fynes studied for her Bachelor of Medicine (MB), Bachelor of Obstetrics (BAO) and Bachelor of Surgery (BCh) at University College Dublin, qualifying in 1991. Fynes went on to complete her Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the National University of Ireland in 2000 and continued her studies in a number of different institutions thereafter.

Awarded a Diploma Advanced Ultrasound (DipUS) by The Royal College of Radiology/The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) 2000. In 1999 Fynes moved briefly to Australia, where she completed her Subspecialist training programme at The Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), gaining a Diploma in Uro-Gynaecology.

Back in the UK, Fynes’s Subspecialist Uro-Gynaecology accreditation was dual accredited by RCOG, making her the only UK Uro-Gynaecologist with a dual accreditation from both RANZCOG and RCOG in Uro-Gynaecology.

Fynes worked as a Consultant at St. George’s University NHS Foundation Trust, St George’s University of London between 2003 and 2016. In this position, Fynes’s clinical interests included Uro-Gynaecology, Reconstructive Pelvic Floor Surgery, Perineal/Childbirth Injury and Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology.

In 2017, Fynes took the position of Locum Consultant Gynaecologist at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge, where her specialisms include Uro-Gynaecology, Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine.
