Michelle Hernandez
Michelle graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama. She was accepted into the elite Collaborative Arts Project 21 musical theater conservatory, where she studied Vocal Technique, Acting, Linklater Voice and Speech, Dance, On Camera Technique, Vocal Performance, and Music Theory, and Industry Business (among other related studies). She was selected into an even more elite group of 18 students to represent Tisch School of the Arts and NYU in the Industry Night. In addition to performing in musicals and acting, Michelle provides the lead vocals for Retreaux Parish, an original funk/rock/soul band, as well as Retro Soul, a multi-purpose top 40 cover band with a HUGE range in repertoire (standards to motown and oldies to modern pop and rock to country).
As a teacher she enforces a technical foundation while fostering an engaging and organic performance. She supports as well as suggests that her students sing the styles they are passionate about. She is patient, and efficient, and as passionate about teaching as she is about performing!
