I was never really invested in sports as a child. I had a few things I wanted to try, but I never really got into it. That was until I was in high school. I had a bunch of friends joining the track team. I was a ‘bandwagoner’ at the time and decided to try out too.
I did not understand how big of a commitment to joining a sport would be. Going to practice directly after school until six every day had started to eat up my social life. Running every day without ever doing exercise before had also started to take a toll on my body. I kept getting different injuries each week which would hinder my performance.
Eventually, I started to enjoy running when I had gotten over my distaste for working out. I moved up to the varsity level. However, those small injuries had started to turn into major injuries that would have me out for weeks at a time. I was sent to the trainers' room often and I got to watch them work with other injured athletes. Then I started to help them.
I had thought I wanted to be a real estate attorney since I was twelve since most of my family is in real estate. You can imagine their surprise when I had changed my mind my junior year of high school.
