Including this class, I have 3 classes to satisfy my master's credits. This is bitter sweet because part of me wants to keep learning more about this ever-changing world of "Library" and a part of me cannot wait to have more time to perfect my library and teaching skills.
This is my 5th year as a Teacher Librarian at Honey Brook Elementary Center located in Honey Brook, PA. Our school houses students from Kindergarten to 4th Grade. During this 2014-2015 school year, I will see each class 3 times during a twelve day cycle. The library is open when I do not have a scheduled class and there is an aide.
This summer I was given a Promethean Board to use in the library. We have 26 computers (4 desktops, 12 thin clients, and 10 laptops).
I have used a few web 2.0 tools with students. Just last year I used Glogster with 4th grade, they loved it. With many grade levels I have used http://bighugelabs.com to create trading cards with student research, magazine covers, and motivator to create posters. I personally have used voki.com to enhance lessons and give instrutions to students. I also love lino at http://en.linoit.com for ticket out the doors and quick thoughts from students.
