Student, Teacher, and Artist in Hendersonville, North Carolina

I am a bilingual middle school educator with a passion for making mathematics meaningful, accessible, and engaging for all learners. As a 6th grade math and dual language teacher, I strive to create a classroom environment where students not only strengthen their math skills but also develop bilingual proficiency, cultural awareness, and confidence in their own abilities.

My teaching philosophy centers on equity, collaboration, and student growth. I design lessons that connect math to real-world problem solving, differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, and integrate technology to enhance engagement. By fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture, I encourage students to take risks, ask questions, and build resilience in their learning journey.

Beyond instruction, I value strong partnerships with families and the school community. Through open communication in both English and Spanish, I work to ensure that every student is supported academically and socially.

I am committed to lifelong learning, regularly participating in professional development to strengthen my practice in math education, bilingual instruction, and culturally responsive teaching. My goal is to inspire students not just to “do math,” but to see themselves as mathematicians, problem solvers, and global citizens.
