In January 2009, my whole entire world and existence changed with the diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes.

Four years and two DKAs later, the DIABETIC Kitchen was created. I had moved from the city, where a hospital was literally 5 minutes away, to the country, where the closest hospital was an hour a away. Meaning if I DKAed again, not only could I not afford it, but it could also cost me my life in that hour trip of getting me to a place where I could seek sufficient medical attention.

Armed with recipes and a oddlly genuine know how about how to modify any recipe to fit my needs, I started blogging, again. This time, not only about me and my experiences, but mainly about food and diabetes. The purpose of DIABETIC Kitchen can be read here.

This is my food journey.

Other than my love for food, I enjoy anything about psychology (theories, studies, pop culture), animals - I have a wolf, a husky, and a tabby, and books (books over a hundred years old makes me all Sqeeee!!!). I really love reading and hate how digitalize we have become as a society. I live for feeling the paper of the text on my skin as I turn the page.
