Currently, I'm a college English instructor and a freelance technical communicator. I hold a Master of Arts in Technical Communication and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching Technical Communication from Texas Tech University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas Woman’s University in 2001. My current research interests include both the theory and practice of visual, technological and educational rhetoric, with particular focus on ensuring broad accessibility.
My professional background spans a variety of fields. In addition to my current work, I have served as a behavior therapist and a freelance grantwriter. Additionally, I have served in management positions at both an autism treatment clinic and an industrial equipment manufacturer, and I hold experience in both the professional photography and higher education arenas. Outside the scope of my primary duties for each job, I either created or standardized business templates and provided a variety of print and web deliverables for both internal and external use.
I currently reside near Fort Worth, Texas, with my family.
