Michel Ozzello
Although I majored in Computer Science at Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon/Portugal), I quickly decided I didn't want to be a programmer, and started moving towards marketing & sales.
So I headed to a career start at Procter & Gamble, where I used my IT know-how to help shape and improve the way the company did business with large customers. Those were really exiting days...
I then joined OniWay, a bold venture aimed at launching the 4th telecom operator in Portugal. It was an incredibly intense adventure... but unfortunately it ended when the stakeholders decided they were not going to launch.
What might have been a roadblock in my career, turned out to be a major opportunity. In 2003 I joined OutSystems (at the time a small start-up with around 20 employees).
For the past 9 years I've covered a lot of ground in the company, from Solution Delivery, Sales, Pre-Sales, Partner Management, Community Building and, of course, Marketing.
Today OutSystems is a global company, with enterprise customers all around the globe, and I was part of its growth every step of the way. I am responsible for the online presence of OutSystems, doing everything that you can fit in the "internet/inbound marketing" job description.
When I'm not buzzing online:
Dedicated husband and proud dad of two boys.
Started surfing when I was 17 and haven't stopped since. Of all the sports I tried (and believe me, I tried a lot) surfing is definitely the best!
When I was 10 I picked up a guitar and got hooked instantly. Studied classical guitar for 5 years, then degenerated into acoustic stuff, and finally degraded even more into noisy electric guitar when I started a Punk band back in 1992. The band is gone now, but the rockstart rush still runs strong in my veins!
