Michelle Reed

My name is Michelle Reed. I was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia and knew nothing but that my entire life. This all changed when I enrolled as a Freshman at the University of Georgia in the Fall of 2011. I left behind me at home a house occupied with my mom, dad, sister, and most importantly my dog. As goofy as this may sound, my dog is my best friend and the cutest little thing ever! Enough about that, here at UGA I am hoping to pursue a degree in either Public Relations, Health Promotions, or Nursing. All throughout high school I was very involved in community service and volunteering for different events. I participated in Relay for Life for 5 years and Shop with a Yellow Jacket for 3 years. I also worked for several years with special needs students both in and outside of school. Besides those two major things I volunteered for over 15 other organization and events. I also was very involved in my schools Leadership program for three years. I worked my entire senior year at an after school program at the elementary school that I attended, and the summer before I worked at a fabric store as a part time job. Both jobs I loved, but unfortunately had to quit when coming to college. My entire life I have had a passion for working with children so working at an after school program could not have been a better job for me. I hope that whatever my future career brings, it involves working with children. Three things you should know about me is that I am very passionate and when I set my mind to something I will get it done, I love to exercise, but college has taken away a lot of my free time to do that, and I am probably a lot nicer than I should be!
