I thought I wanted to be a nurse. Turns out syringes and I don’t get along. But the ‘Intro to Nutrition’ course, required for all nursing majors, promised a way to escape what I thought was certain fate: living life as an overweight and unhealthy adult.

Five years and two nutrition degrees later: the first part of my career was spent on the front lines fighting childhood obesity as a school nutrition program director. From there I moved into a position to impact school nutrition across the Carolinas, became a trained media spokesperson, board certified Sports Dietitian, and avid fan of the Carolina Panthers through their interaction with area schools.

The two year round athletes (XC, Wrestling/MMA, Track & Field) living under my roof provide never-ending opportunities to hone my skills and walk the talk. These days, I never get tired of educating teams and parents on what they can do to get more of the good stuff on the plate and in the mouths of their active families.
