miduno (みづの) is a field recordist and recording engineer from Gifu, Japan. Inspired by audio critic Tetsuo Nagaoka in his youth, he began making DIY speakers and capturing sounds on DAT. He now dedicates his work to recording natural and environmental soundscapes.

2001:
Worked as Chief Director and Mixing Engineer at a community FM radio station.

2004:
Joined STRIP STUDIO, led by recording engineer Shinichi Akagawa.

2012:
Started working as a freelance field recordist.

2020:
A field recording work was selected as one of the Best Works of 2019 in the J-WAVE “Ryuichi Sakamoto Radio Sakamoto” audition.
Ryuichi Sakamoto praised him as “one of the leading figures in field recording.”

2021:
Two of his field recording works were selected as Best Works of 2020 in the J-WAVE “Ryuichi Sakamoto Radio Sakamoto” audition.
