Most people call me Mie.

I am a coffee trader, and I teach and write about it. I'm a home cook, all-eater and cocktail drinker.

I had a blog for the longest time where i wrote seriously about coffee. Then I broke up with the blogsphere, because there was just too many people writing about the same things over and over again, and honestly, I was getting tired of that. On new years eve of 2009 i left most of my life behind in Norway, re-located to San Francisco, worked in coffee for a while, co-curated the Good Food Awards and started a new blog.

I soon re-located again, first to Canada, later to East Africa. But as my friend says: "there will be other San Franciscos". I suppose my life is about looking for those places.
