Dickson Migiro
Editor, Consultant, and Project Manager in Nairobi, Kenya
I am an editor, consultant, and project manager.
I suffer from all-media syndrome; I have managed to work online, in television, radio and print. In 1999 I set up Kenya's first entertainment website, Kelele.com. Since those early days I have built a career spanning over 21 years.
I cut my Television production teeth in London's Tiger Aspect before joining the Focus and Network Africa radio teams at BBC Bush house.
Since then my career has taken me to all corners of the world in search of stories. My expertise is in Kenya and the greater East, central and horn of Africawhere I have worked on a huge variety of projects including magazine shows, commercials, game shows, wildlife and factual documentaries.
In 2007, I set up Kenya’s first men’s magazine Adam. I went on to launch Twende – Kenya’s first travel magazine targeting locals and was invited as guest editor when Africa’s oldest magazine Drum was re-launching as a society magazine.
I have produced, directed and shot for a diverse range of clients including Channel 4 News, Guardian Films, Comic Relief, Supersport, BBC, PBS and Al Jazeera English channel.
Lately, I have been a communication and content consultant and trainer for private individuals, organisations and internet start-ups and an editor for publications such as Serianu Ltd's 2018 Cyber Security Reports for Uganda and Kenya.
I am an enthusiastic and multi-talented journalist, producer, trainer and publicist, skilled at content creation and leading teams through a variety of formats, including text, radio and television. My contacts reach to the very top of Kenya’s economic, social and political establishments. I typically form excellent working relations in any project I work on and am always asked back by clients.
I like to learn other languages, bake, read, travel and run half-marathons in my spare time.
