About Me

Hi! My name is Miguel. I am a former professional dancer currently working as a strength and conditioning coach and a striking coach at Force Antwerp.

During my ten years of professional experience as a dancer, I was part of two German state theaters (Nürnberg and Saarbrücken) as well as joining in several projects as a freelance.

Changing professions was not something that happened overnight, during the pandemic of Covid19, I started studying for a college degree in physical conditioning, at the same time, I trained English boxing and Thai boxing with a former world champion, and used my free time researching and learning everything concerning physical performance. (This search is the Neverending Story)

Everything I mentioned in the previous paragraphs made me create Elite Performer, an online based personal training program to help dancers build a powerful, resistant, and flexible body.

Do you want to be an Elite Performer?

Dancing is as physically demanding as any sport, yet the training for dancers is far behind when compared to athletes.

What is there to learn from athletes?

Having ballet class every morning is great to improve your technique, but it is just not enough, and sometimes it can even be detrimental if you have an ongoing disbalance or unhealed injury in your body.

If you follow a good personalized program, you will improve your balance, flexibility, cardio, and overall strength and reduce your risk of injury.

For example, LeBron James has his basketball coach to make him understand the strategy better, to miss fewer shots, and to perfect his defense. Now, to make him last longer in a match, jump higher, or run faster, are just a few traits that the strength & conditioning coach helps him improve.

I can use this example with Simone Byles, Usain Bolt, Valentina Shevchenko, Rafa Nadal, Venus & Serena Williams... The list goes on and on.

Mixing your technique training with the adequate strength and conditioning program will help you improve your overall athleticism while reducing the risk of injury.

How long do you plan to keep dancing?

Having a long-lasting career is not just in your genes, instead, it is something that you can take care of by preventing injuries and properly rehabilitating if they occur.

In other words, having the proper trainer guiding you on how to balance the tension between rehearsal and rest, will simply make you a better dancer for a longer time.
