Miguel Andrade

My name is Miguel Andrade. I am 20 years old and a full time student at Union County College. I am a computer science major and will be transferring to Rutgers University for the fall 2016 semester. I was born in Portugal and came to the United States when I was only 5. I am the first generation to attend college. I attend school full time as well as work full time.

One of my favorite interests is cars. I have liked them for as long as I can remember, and I like everything from admiring them to working on them. Photography and videography do not fall too far behind on my list of interests. When it comes to sports, television, and music I am very diverse.

I chose Computer Science as my major because I am always very interested on how things work and in today's world it is not just about how things work mechanically, instead technology is the main focus. While you can have the perfect machine ready to go, software and coding is absolutely essential in getting it to run properly. After graduating I hope to work for Google developing and improving software. The reason for wanting to join the Google team is because I use their products daily and their work environment is almost unbeatable.
