I'm Miguel de Melo, a digital artist and photographer from Porto, Portugal. My artistic journey revolves around exploring the captivating interplay between decay and transformation, seeking the hidden beauty within the overlooked and mundane aspects of life.
At Soares dos Reis Art School in the late 1980s, I discovered the expressive potential of photography, which became my lifelong passion. Later, studying Digital Art at London College of Printing in the mid-1990s, I expanded my creative horizons with photo manipulation and 3D animation.
In the early 2000s, the advent of the DSLR era led me to embrace digital photography fully. I ventured into various genres, including live music, clubs, festivals, and macro photography.
Capturing the essence of live music performances became a driving force, allowing me to immortalise raw energy and fleeting moments on stage, deepening my understanding of visual storytelling.
The allure of psychedelia inspired my exploration of high-quality studio portraiture and macro photography of raw textures. My iconic project, "Delirio Photography Dark Arts," delved into mind-bending experiences through visual art.
My latest transformative project, "Rust In Peace," uncovers the beauty within decay and rusting surfaces, transforming them into vibrant Sacred Geometry-like shapes, symbolising renewal amid impermanence.
Beyond my artistry, I merge my creative sensibilities with technological expertise as a Solutions Architect, enriching my digital artistry with cutting-edge tools.
My art invites introspection and self-discovery, celebrating beauty in decay and the boundless potential for transformation. I seek to forge connections with the natural world and inner landscapes through my creations.
