Miguel Angel Megias Ascanio

Hi!

I am an electrical engineer, bilingual English/Spanish, resident in Spain.

Right now I'm living in the Albaicin quarters of Granada, a beautiful, historical and interesting place.

Among my various interests I love photography, classical music, reading and sports. Recently I walked from France to Santiago de Compostela on "El Camino de Santiago", nearly 775 km in 35 days. A most interesting walk through old Spain!

Other travels I have done: bycicling the seven Canary Islands, another bycicle tour through the south of Spain and Portugal, Morocco, Algiers, Tunis, the island of Sicily, south of Italy and finally part of Greece. Quite a trip!

Several years ago I went, by car this time, from Spain to Nepal, visiting France, Switzerland, Italy, Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. A wonderful experience, not possible nowadays.

With so much travelling, you may wonder "when does this guy work?". Well... For fourty years I've been a professor of engineering. Now, I'm retired (thank God!). And much of my travelling was done when I was still active at the university. Yes, I worked a lot! No, I'm not rich!

I can imitate several spanish accents (argentinian, colombian, cuban, mexican and so on), just for fun. Also, I am fluent in French and Italian. German, only enough to make myself understood!

Perhaps you may think that with all that travel I don't work. Wrong! I taught EE subjects for 40 years at Universidad de Carabobo, in Valencia (Venezuela). My travels were possible while teaching

Presently I am seeking work as a translator (English/Spanish and vice versa) or as an instructor in English.

At your beck and call, friends!

Oh! I forgot to say that I'm nearly 80 years old. Quite an accomplishment!
