Miguel de Miguel

Stockholm

We are living an exciting time in History, especially for those who are taking part in the huge developments happening in the world of technology. As an Engineer in Telecommunication Systems I am very aware of the virtually unlimited potential for innovation in this filed where the only obstacles we may find are time and our own imagination.

My name is Miguel de Miguel and I am currently finishing my Master studies in Communication Engineering at KTH Stockholm. My training has been focused on Communication systems, including architecture, services and networking.

My bachelor’s thesis was based on the administration of sensor deployment with microcontrollers through a mobile application. While working on this project I made an integrated use of different skills, mainly programming and electronics design in an open source environment. Being able to employ my theoretical and practical knowledge in a project that I chose and designed myself was as challenging as it was rewarding.

I worked as a Research Intern at Ericsson R&D for almost two years. In this position I had the opportunity to expand and greatly enhance the knowledge and skills learned during my college training. During my internship I learned to propose, present and defend technology development projects. I enjoyed working in an extremely dynamic and productive group, managed and run mainly by its own members, and getting intellectually involved in a complex, demanding and extremely interesting creative process. I was part of the development team of a web platform IoT framed in the European Research. Also I worked on Software Defined Network using open platform for network OpenDaylight.

Last year I started off my master's degree in the Communication Engineering Department at Aalto university of Helsinki. During this year I improved my knowledge in networking and radio communication by participating in advanced courses. Recently I got accepted by the School of Electrical Engineering of KTH as an exchange student to complete my studies.
