Miguel Orozco

Oxnard, CA

Since writing and producing the award-winning short film, “God Speaks Spanish,” Miguel collaborated on film and Latino media outreach campaigns for the U.S. Department of Labor, USA Funds, and W.K. Kellogg Foundation. In 2006, Miguel co-founded Novelas Educativas®, to produce and distribute educational films.

In 2007, Miguel launched Nueva Vista Media, Inc. and created a digital grassroots campaign called “Amigos de Obama” for the 2008 presidential election. The website had 10 million unique visits and was featured in the Wall Street Journal and
CNN.

Miguel has since created Latino outreach campaigns for the National Council of La
Raza, the U.S. Dept. of Education, Los Angeles County-USC Hospital, and a
National Parent Engagement Campaign sponsored by the Hispanic Scholarship
Fund and the Ad Council. In 2010, Miguel completed the UCLA Extension
Screenwriting Program. He is a member of the National Association of Latino
Independent Producers (NALIP) and was selected to NALIP’s prestigious 2011
Latino Writer’s Lab. Miguel has a Master’s in Public and International Affairs from
the University of Pittsburgh, and B.A. in Economics.

For 2012-13, Miguel is creating and producing a digital grassroots campaign
for Nuestro Rio – a Latino civic engagement project to help save the Colorado
River. For 2013-14, Miguel is producing a STEM educational outreach campaign
for high schools and community colleges in Southern California.
