Hello There! My name is Mikah Miller and I am the Founder and Director of With A Child's Heart Behavioral Health Center🎉. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in "The 8TH Grade Transition" (dun dun dun dunnnnnn🤯 AHHHHHHH!) I absolutely love my client kiddos entering AND exiting the 8th grade. This is the age where they feel lost and misunderstood all at the same time. There is something about the transitions that occur in middle school that leaves an impact on our personalities well in to adulthood. Think about it. What age was your worst grade school experience? When did you start feeling self-conscious and/or insecure about your looks, intellect, style, etc.. It was somewhere between 6th-8th grade! Am I right? People always ask me, "What made you become a Therapist?" I always reply, Because I needed someone like Me when I was that age.

This is where I toot my own horn 🎺 a bit..... Just bear with me 😅:
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama(TU!!!) and a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from The Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta. My skills, competencies and experience include counseling services in community mental health, Integrated Behavioral and Medical Health Care, Adolescent Residential psychiatric facilities, Adult Substance Abuse Rehabilitation programs, Homeless Outreach; Sexually Exploited Children, and as a Senior Care Manager for a leading Managed Care Organization, nationwide. I have over 15 years experience in the field providing treatment for issues, such as, Juvenile Delinquency, Behavior Modification, Co-Parenting, LGBTQ issues (LGBTQ allied),Depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia; substance Abuse, anger management, and much more.

It is my goal to approach each session with a pure heart, just like a child's heart, and meet you where you are. I believe that every person born is unique for a reason. Life's challenges often interrupts the flow and prevents us from maximizing our unique potential. Let me help you or your loved one identify those strengths and abilities within so that they can be utilized to help regain hope and healing!

Mikah
