Mikal Sutton

Mikal Sutton is the director of workforce and medical development for The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, as well as the executive director for Chamber affiliate organization the Business Education Partnership and coordinator of the Young Springfield Professionals Network. Mikal works closely with community organizations in developing and implementing workforce development programs throughout Sangamon County.

Prior to joining The Chamber, Mikal worked as a constituent services agent in the Springfield office of former U.S. Senator Barack Obama. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Master of Arts in Political Studies from the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS).

A Springfield native, Mikal enjoys being outside, reading, and walking her dog Jack. She frequently volunteers at WUIS public radio, is a board member of the Springfield Old Capitol Art Fair, and is a co-chair for the Memorial Foundation Festival of Trees event. She also enjoys dining out with friends, traveling, and is a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
