A triple threat talent...Mikari can sing, dance and act with natural ability. Mikari has been on stages since she was 3 years old. Whenever she performs, people are amazed by her confidence and abilities at such a young age. She has dazzled thousands in performances at church, in showcases, recitals & competitions. Gracing magazine covers and print ads with her contagious smile, Mikari shines in her every endeavor. As an actor, in 2011 she landed her 1st principle role in an award winning, independent short film called Letters to a Father.
Mikari is a trained dancer with classes in ballet, jazz, tap, African and Hip Hop. She performed in Ballethnic Dance Company’s holiday classic, The Urban Nutcracker in 2012 and won High Gold, Judges Choice and Top Score at the 2013 Hall of Fame Dance Challenge.
In December 2013 she made her theatrical debut as Mary, in The Horizon Theatre’s Production of Madeline’s Christmas in Atlanta. She has travelled to Broadway for several auditions for theater and film opportunities… and finally received the call to play "Young Nala" In Disney's The Lion King National Broadway Tour. She is travelling North America with the Gazelle Touring Company which started in Winter 2015.
Rhythm & music are in her blood. Mikari’s parents, Michael & Tomaree Tarpley, are both musicians. Michael is a soulful jazz saxophonist who plays professionally with various bands in the Atlanta area. Her mother Tomaree is an Independent Recording artist whose recent single release climbed the UK Soul Chart to number 9 in 2013. Mikari plays the guitar and sings with power and passion. She demands attention when she takes the microphone. Before she was born Mike & Tomaree prayed that she would have musical talents. Knowing the power of prayer, they painted a mural reading “A Star is Born” on her bedroom wall. God not only blessed her with musical talents but she has so much more. She is a straight “A” student, a leader amongst her peers, and a self-motivated child with dreams of stardom who also wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. She’s a bright eyed little girl who has the potential to change the world… Twinkle, twinkle little Mikari!
