I'm working on the next generation of higher education experiences at Pearson.
I'm a digital UX leader fascinated with discovering disruptive and incremental innovation through design, research, culture, method and process.
I believe great design culture leads to insights-driven, authentic experiences that solve real problems and reveal new opportunities for great futures to emerge.
My work is inspired by movements like Lean Startup, Lean UX, Design Thinking, Co-design, Design Sprints, Liberating Structures, and empathy-based user research.
These days I lead with a Design Sprints based model of planning and execution, running workshops and learning loops that bring innovation teams together to clarify vision and goals, quickly moving through problem framing, idea development, and experimentation to uncover unexpected solutions, find product/market fit and optimize UX. I also occasionally write run-on sentences.
I leverage a background of learning, envisioning, leading, designing, developing, and launching valued digital experiences in a variety of spaces like education, energy, engineering and online retail.
One story I take pride in: I led marketing and product teams through finding a new way to discover and personalize their curriculum, with a focus on growth, optimization and ROI. Over 2 quarters I designed and delivered multivariate experiments that resulted in quadrupled sales, and doubled average order sizes.
On another occasion: I led the design and validation of a next-generation learner offering that helped students optimize their adaptive learning paths toward achieving their goals and personalizing their online education.
In addition to working as an in-house product designer, I have a background running a digital consultancy where I provide organizations with concept-through-launch services.
